Allotment Garden Transformed
Our team transformed an Allotment Garden into an area which can be used by all the family.
Over the course of the project, we erected over 100 meters of fence, removed old structures which included sheds, a greenhouse, various raised beds and a brick path. The area was levelled out to create a blank canvas. After discussing options and designing with the customer we Installed a curvy footpath down the garden, laid 110m2 of turf, added child-friendly play-grade wood chips and made a bespoke seat around the tree to make a feature in the garden.
Flooding Issue Finally Resolved
DK Horticulture helped a customer resolve a flooding issue in their garden, after a number of other companies couldn't help
After the customer got a survey report they discover the flooding was caused by inadequate drainage and clay soil. Following a report, we removed the border along with 6 tones of the clay soil, installed a soakaway, then levelled the ground using sleepers to retain the 10 tones of limestone gravel, which was topped off with decorative gravel.
St Johns Hall, Meadowfield
Whilst most of you were enjoying the weather over the Easter weekend, the lads at DK Horticulture worked tirelessly to create an area for the community to enjoy at St Johns Hall Meadowfield.
We built a retaining wall using sleepers, with the help of Wilkinson & Sons we dug out 40 ton of earth which was used to back fill the wall, along with 20 ton of top soil to level a section of the garden which was then seeded.
The area dug out enabled us to create a wheelchair friendly area with accessible raised beds filled with topsoil/compost.
If that wasn’t enough, we created a hard standing along with an accessible ramp to a summer house which we also installed.

Brandon Carrside Youth Project
Yet another makeover for the local community…
DK Horticulture have completed a project on behalf of Brandon Carrside Youth and Community Project. The area was unusable and had been neglected for many years.
In less than 1 week we removed 16 silver birch trees with the help of David Scott Landscaping & Tree Surgery.
We created a raised low maintenance garden which can be used by everyone.
The lads installed a sleeper retaining wall, back filled with 10 ton of crushed rubble. This was then topped with 10 ton type 1 MOT and screeded with 6 ton of Granodust ready for the artifartificial lawn to be laid.
We created a bespoke decked ramp from the building to the new higher level, that comprised of a large artificial lawn leading the “Chill Zone” that includes seating and a fire pit.

BTL Timber & Country Store
DK Horticulture have offered to upgrade a display area that was in need of improvement…
Last week DK Horticulture recreated a display area for BTL Timber and Country Store to showcase just some of the products you can purchase from their yard.
We installed a wooden decked accessible ramp, leading to a gravel path and a large artificial lawn. The centre piece is a BTL pent roof shed and a dog kennel.
We installed a decked area using Cladco composite decking, and built a pergola.
To round things off we created a gravel display area making it easier to choose the gravel for your next project, and finally, not forgetting different types of Balustrading which you can purchase from the yard.
4.3m High Fence
Once again the lads at DK Horticulture are reaching new heights.
This time we were asked to construct a contemporary lat fence, with a difference. Standing over 4.3m high - which is twice the height of a traditional back garden fence.

Low Maintenance Garden Created
A returning customer wanted to create a low maintenance garden, comprising of a rustic wall, large decked area and artificial lawn.
The lads at DK Horticulture were more than happy to make the customers dreams come true in just 3 days.

Laurel Avenue Primary School Project 2023
DK Horticulture completes another project for the British Ecological Society
We were asked if we could transform an area at Laurel Avenue Community Primary School that was no longer practical. This project was a bit different for DK Horticulture as it was all about upcycling what materials we already had on site but most importantly useable and safe for the staff and children of Laurel Avenue Community Primary School.
In just 3 days the lads managed to extend the existing sensory garden, creating a new fenced-off safe area for the children, with perimeter planters which were made with the original decking boards filled with recycled topsoil and compost, then the ground was covered with play-grade woodchip.
